This year, skirts have finally earned their right place in our wardrobe, which made me extremely happy! A frequent term to describe them is variety; mostly done through new cuts, fabrics and colors. Interesting elements? Take asymmetry, 50`-60` cuts, lots of prints, metallic details and vibrant tonalities. In order to achieve an impeccable style, special attention is required when items are chosen. The shape of our body, our personality and occasions are just a few to take in consideration. And skirts are made to emphasize our qualities and hide imperfections, when wisely used.
Low cut white skirt with metallic insertions
This season, insertions are ruling. Spikes, studs, metallic beans… you name it. My choice was to accentuate the waist using this type of detail (aside of its low cut and antic white color).
You have to agree Ioana`s choice was inspired!
Monochromatic pleated skirt
Creases are a chic way to emphasize gentility and femininity. Keep this in mind, and you can guess what is my favorite thing to wear for the hot season. It has a mulberry color, small creases and it is very light.
If you have one from last year, wear it with confidence. Just approach different combinations!
Printed pleated skirt
Retro pleated skirts are immortal, especially when used with pastels. For my style I`ve opted for a floral print, with marine details.
Another favorite of this season is the asymmetric skirt. If you add a print and some creases… even better! I couldn`t decide for a winner, so I`ve decided to combine them in one option. The result? A shy asymmetry, large creases and a floral print… carefully balanced so it do not disturb the eye.
I`ve decided to wear it in a warm afternoon, at a meeting with my girls. It`s easy to wear and match!
Maxi red skirt
I know you like ethereal outfits, but how about convenience? This is why maxi skirts are great for a hot summer! My choice were several layers of fabric: a transparent printed veil on top of a light cotton fabric, which allows skin to breath.
Long skirts… they become irresistible! They will definitively be in my wardrobe next season!
After this small introduction in the world of skirts, which one is your favorite and why?
